About Us

Welcome to OBMC Publishing!

At OBMC Publishing, I believe in the transformative power of stories and educational resources. These tools spark curiosity, encourage creativity, and build a lifelong love of learning in young minds.

Who I Am
OBMC Publishing is my creative and educational space where I design early childhood learning materials that engage, inspire, and celebrate diversity. Each resource supports inclusion, creativity, and meaningful learning experiences for children, families, and classrooms.

My Mission
I combine interactive activities, vivid visuals, and clear explanations to create materials that feel both fun and purposeful. I design every resource to make learning joyful, engaging, and impactful at school and at home.

What Makes OBMC Publishing Unique
I blend creativity with representation. My resources help children see themselves in what they learn while giving families and educators tools that support growth, confidence, and connection.

Meet the Founder

I’m Joreather Settles—educator, creator, and founder of OBMC Publishing.

I build educational resources grounded in real classroom experience. With over a decade working directly with children and families in Washington, D.C. public schools, I’ve consistently seen a gap between students’ potential and what materials provide. Too often, resources lack representation, creativity, and authentic connections to children’s lives. Instead of waiting for systems to catch up, I create what’s missing.

A core part of my work is making big concepts accessible to our youngest learners and their families. I design resources that break down complex ideas with clear, engaging language and rich visuals so children can truly understand—not just memorize—what they learn. I intentionally use imagery to support comprehension, curiosity, and confidence.

I design with today’s fast-paced, technology-driven world in mind. My videos, kept to focused 2–4 minute windows, use songs, movement, and strong visuals to quickly capture interest and support short attention spans—without sacrificing depth or quality. My goal is to teach real skills in concise, engaging bursts that align with how children learn today.

OBMC Publishing is rooted in the belief that children learn best when they feel seen, challenged, and inspired. I blend strong educational foundations, cultural awareness, and imagination to create materials that support both academic growth and emotional confidence. Learning should never be one-dimensional.

As a Black woman educator and mother, I am deeply committed to representation, access, and excellence. I create for children who are often overlooked and for families seeking more than worksheets and busywork. Education should be powerful, joyful, and grounded in real life.

OBMC Publishing is not just a business to me. It is an extension of my values, my experience, and my vision for what learning can be.
